Accredited museums in Scotland can apply for grants of up to £20,000 from a Museums Galleries Scotland (MGS) World War 1 Fund.

The fund supports museums working with communities to explore the impact and legacy of the first world war on the families and communities of Scotland and its continuing resonance on modern life.

MGS has stated it would prefer projects that show either collaboration, engagement with younger generations, have a strong creative arts component, encourage inquiry and understanding about the war, or will improve access to first world war collections.

Museums can apply for between £1,000 and £10,000 to cover up to 75% of the total project cost. Projects involving collaborations with artists or partnerships are eligible for up to £20,000.

Applications will close on 26 January 2018.
