We are independent and not-for-profit and we advocate for museums across the UK.

We gratefully receive funding support for our work from the following organisations:

Esmée Fairbairn Foundation

We have longstanding relationship with the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation, which has supported our collections work for over a decade. In particular we award the Esmée Fairbairn Communities and Collections Fund on behalf of the foundation to projects that demonstrate the significance, distinctiveness and power of collections to people. The fund has awarded £16m in over 200 grants since 2011.

Julia Rausing Trust
Julia Rausing Trust

The Julia Rausing Trust supports the Health and Wellbeing in Museums Fund, our programme of grant-making, networking and learning dissemination for health and wellbeing programmes in museums. Grants enable the development and continuation of groundbreaking programmes in UK museums during a time of financial crisis and increasing demand for services.

Digital Innovation and Engagement Fund and Mindsets + Missions

We partnered with UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) and creative design agency The Liminal Space to deliver the Digital Innovation and Engagement Fund, and also with the Association for Science and Discovery Centres (ASDC) to deliver Mindsets + Missions for Museums and Science Centres of the Future.
