We are independent and not-for-profit and we advocate for museums across the UK.
We gratefully receive funding support for our work from the following organisations:
Cultural Recovery Fund
We received £150,000 as part of the Cultural Recovery Fund, distributed by Arts Council England. This funding helps us continue to support museums and those that work in and with them through our professional development, online training, guidance and events.
Digital Innovation and Engagement Fund
We have partnered with UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) and creative design agency The Liminal Space to offer a £600,000 Digital Innovation and Engagement Fund for museums.
Esmée Fairbairn Foundation
We have longstanding relationship with the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation, which has supported our collections work for over a decade. In particular we award the Esmée Fairbairn Collections Fund on behalf of the foundation to projects that demonstrate the significance, distinctiveness and power of collections to people. The fund has awarded over £10m to 145 projects since it launched in 2011.
Paul Hamlyn Foundation
The Paul Hamlyn Foundation has supported us in many of recent activities, including Partnerships with Purpose and our Power to the People Framework. We currently receive backbone funding of £40,000 a year from the foundation, which runs until 2024.
