Career Conversations

We will be resuming the Career Conversations programme in 2024. If you would like to register your interest in participating, please email tamsin@museumsassociation.org.

We are committed to supporting those who work in and with museums to realise their potential and their career aspirations.

As part of this commitment, we’re pleased to offer a programme of Career Conversations, where individual members of the MA can book a one-hour discussion slot with Tamsin Russell, our workforce development lead.

Whether you are looking to join the sector, experiencing a career interruption or looking to make a change, taking the time to explore your journey in a safe and supportive space can make all the difference.

After your session, you will be sent resources to support your next steps.

Career Conversations will primarily take place between 12.00pm and 2.00pm on weekdays, but do get in touch if you’d like to arrange another time – we may be able to accommodate slots outside standard business hours. When your slot is booked, Tamsin will send you a Teams or Zoom link depending on your preference.

To register your interest for a session, please email tamsin@museumsassociation.org.

Over the last 2 years I have had the pleasure of having nearly 300 career conversations with museum colleagues. They have been at different points in their careers: from those leaving school and discussing courses, to those experiencing redundancy and exploring what might be next, and those who know where they are going but just need time to reflect on the details. I have enjoyed every single conversation, and the satisfaction rates have been very high – over 95% of people who participated felt the sessions met their needs.
