Creative Museums, a scheme designed to help museums build programmes to involve audiences in innovative ways, is open for applications.
Six successful applicants will take part in a practical learning programme from October to March 2017, working with artists and sharing practice with other Creative Museum partners, as well as attending workshops and masterclasses with a range of heritage, performance and arts specialists.
The programme, funded by Arts Council England and run by Battersea Arts Centre with consultant Gaby Porter, aims to connect museums more closely with local people and communities, develop more playful and varied programmes, and open up museums as venues for performance.
The closing date for applications is 4 September. Priority will be given to small museums with nine members of staff or fewer.
