Denmark: The Arken Museum of Modern Art in Ishøj will be based on an island from next autumn designed by the architects Møller & Grønborg. Three bridges will lead visitors over a lagoon from the mainland to the museum site. “The initial concept called for locating the museum on the beach in [nearby] Køge Bay, but this had to be abandoned, partly because of planning conditions for the area around Ishøj harbour,” said a museum spokeswoman.
