MA course internships
The University of East Anglia is offering four museum internships as part of its MA museum studies postgraduate course. The internship covers course fees, as well as giving students a chance to work in departments such as collections management at the Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts. The closing date for September 2013 applications is 1 March.
ACE funds new project
Arts Council England has awarded funding to a new project, Supporting Practice in Participation, which aims to develop relationships between regional museums and the public.
Octavia Hill Awards open
The National Trust is seeking Nominations for the 2013 Octavia Hill Awards, which Recognise individuals and organisations that champion and care for green spaces. Nominations will be judged by a panel of experts including Countryfile presenter Julia Bradbury. An online poll in late March will decide the winners. The deadline is 28 February.
Hunterian bicentenary
The Hunterian Museum at the Royal College of Surgeons (RCS) in London will host a research fellowship to mark its 2013 bicentenary. The fellow will receive £15,000 over the academic year 2013-14 to enhance knowledge and understanding of the museum’s artefacts and the RCS’s other stored collections. The bicentenary will be also be marked by a programme of exhibitions and events. The deadline for applications is 10 March 2013.
