Tate director Nicholas Serota is among the eight members of a board created as part of the restructuring of the Cultural Olympiad's leadership. Last month's formation of a Cultural Leadership Board follows criticism that the programme lacked focus.
The chairman is Royal Opera House chief executive Tony Hall. Other members include Southbank Centre artistic director Jude Kelly and Arts Council England chief executive Alan Davey.
The details coincided with the announcement that the Olympic Lottery Distributor was providing a £15.6m grant to be divided among six of London 2012's 12 major cultural projects.
