Museums and galleries could benefit from a £5m training programme launched last month by the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF).
Skills for the Future will offer work-based training on heritage projects. Museums will be able to apply for funding for traineeships over a period of up to five years. The HLF will reveal further details later in the year.
The £5m scheme was announced alongside an extra £2.3m to extend the HLF's Training Bursary Programme. The £7m initiative provides training in craft and conservation skills. The money has funded 10 schemes, including £1m to allow the Institute of Conservation to offer 60 bursaries.
