The Freud Museum London has appointed Anna Jobson as director. Jobson, who succeeds interim head Dan Feeney, is an independent strategist with more than 25 years’ experience in the arts, culture and education sectors. She spent the first decade of her career at Tate, and has held such roles as director of strategy at Arts Council England director of change at the University of the Arts London.
A UK government reshuffle has seen Labour peer Fiona Twycross take on the ministerial portfolio for museums and heritage at the Department for Culture, Media and Sport. Ian Murray, who succeeded previous culture minister Chris Bryant, assumes the title of minister for creative industries, media and arts.
Ralph Rugoff will step down as the director of the Southbank Centre’s Hayward Gallery in the spring, after 20 years in the post. Rugoff, who was previously at the Wattis Institute for Contemporary Art in San Francisco, curated 23 exhibitions during his time at the London gallery.
The Weald & Downland Living Museum has recruited Clare de Bathe as interim director, after Tilly Blyth took up a role at the Imperial War Museum. De Bathe, who has more than 25 years’ experience in the voluntary, community and education sectors, has spent the past 12 years as chief executive of the Chichester Community Development Trust.
Bristol’s Arnolfini arts centre has named Suzanne Rolt chief executive, following a period as interim director. Rolt is a former chief executive of the city’s St George’s concert hall.
