Helen Featherstone left her role of director of Sheffield Industrial Museums Trust last month to join Yorkshire Sculpture Park, Wakefield. She is replaced by Chris Keady, who was the head of collections and learning at Sheffield Industrial Museums Trust, until a new director is appointed. The organisation is home to Kelham Island Museum, Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet and Shepherd Wheel.
Amjad Hussain, Tamsin Todd and Matthew Westerman have been reappointed as trustees of the Imperial War Museum. Hussain’s last military appointments were as director general weapons until 2009 and controller of the Navy until 2012. Todd has worked in digital roles and growth businesses for 20 years, while Westerman is a director at MW&L Capital Partners, a private investment vehicle.
Michael Morrison has been reappointed as a commissioner of Historic England for a second term of three years from 1 June. He is a conservation architect with 40 years’ experience of working on historic houses, churches, museums and galleries.
Sarah Dean, David Fleming and Max Steinberg have become Trustees of National Museums Liverpool, each for a term of four years, which commenced on 1 March. Dean is the head of tax and investments at the Grosvenor Estate Family Office, Fleming is the chief technology officer at Mitigo, a cyber security company, and Steinberg is the chief executive of Liverpool Vision.
Sarah Healey has been announced as the new permanent secretary for the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport. Healey is currently the director general of the Economic and Domestic Secretariat in the Cabinet Office.
