The Manchester arts hub Home has announced that Jon Gilchrist will join as executive director on 22 January 2018. He has been at the Bush Theatre in London since 2014, where he was the executive director.
Tamalie Newbery is leaving her role of executive director of the Association of Independent Museums (AIM) to become the director & CEO at Brooklands Museum in Surrey. Emma Chaplin, a museum consultant, will take on the role at AIM in February.
Manchester’s National Football Museum has appointed Jean Williams as its new academic. She will help research the largely uncharted history of women’s football, culminating in a conference and series of events at the museum to celebrate International Women’s Day in March 2018.
Angela Doane has joined the British Film Institute (BFI) as head of collections and information. She was previously at Central Saint Martins – University of the Arts London in a similar position. At the BFI she will lead on developing the organisation’s collections, and manage the curation, conservation, information and library teams.
Roland Rudd, the chairman and founder of public relations company Finsbury, has been appointed as a Tate trustee for four years.
Karyn McGhee has left National Museums Scotland, where she was the national and international partnerships officer, to join Historic Environment Scotland as its technical conservation and training officer.
Monisha Shah has been appointed to the Art Fund’s board of trustees. Shah’s last executive role was with BBC Worldwide where she was the director of sales for emerging markets.
