Post The curatorial manager role at the museum service High Life Highland works across a few different sites. These include the Inverness Museum & Art Gallery and the Highland Folk Museum in Newtonmore.
The service also supports a community of over 20 independent museums throughout the Highlands, including the St Fergus Gallery in Wick.
How’s it going so far? On my first day working for High Life Highland, I walked through the front door of Inverness Museum & Art Gallery to be greeted by an exquisite pair of recently acquired marble busts of Victorian children by the Inverness-born pre- Raphaelite artist Alexander Munro (1825-71).
I’ve been interested in Munro’s work for some time, so it was like bumping into an old friend.
