Tate has announced two appointments to its curatorial team. Clara Kim has been made the Daskalopoulos senior curator, international art (Africa, Asia and Middle East); Nancy Ireson has been appointed curator of international art.

Manchester International Festival has revealed that Fiona Gasper will be its new executive director. Currently the executive director at the Royal Exchange Theatre, Gasper will take over from MiF’s current executive director, Jim Forrester, in March.

David Evennett MP will take up the position of acting sport, tourism and heritage minister from the end of January. He will be covering for Tracey Crouch, who will be taking maternity leave.

Andrew Mackay, previously head of collections and programming at Tullie House Museum and Art Gallery, has been appointed the director of the museum following the departure of Hilary Wade.

Arts Council England has appointed Annette French as its museums accreditation manager. French joins from Share Museums East, where she was the manager of museum development.

General André Lanata, the chief of the French air force, has started work as the new vice-president of the Allied Air Forces Memorial and Yorkshire Air Museum, at the former RAF Elvington station near York.

Appointed last September, Lanata is the third French air force head to take up this post.

After being made redundant as the county libraries and heritage manager at Lincolnshire County Council in August last year, Jonathan Platt has become the head of the Heritage Lottery Fund, East Midlands.
