What attracted you to this post?
As a child, I remember many happy holidays in Scarborough. It’s a fascinating place historically – dinosaur footprints, big-game tunny fishing; it was also the birthplace of artist Frederick Leighton. Our offices are in the home of the infamous Sitwell family.
What’s been the most interesting event so far?
The Yorkshire Fossil Festival – it was a privilege to pick the brains of expert geologists and paleontologists.

BA joint honours in English literature and history of art (University of York); MA history of art, based on the art and writing of Max Beerbohm (University of York); postgraduate certificate in education (University of Durham).
