What attracted you to this post?

The quality of the fans and of the painting, embroidery and other embellishments seen on those within the collections and from collections elsewhere is an often underestimated aspect of our art history.

What’s been the most interesting event of the job so far?

I was fortunate to attend a recent lecture by Aileen Ribeiro regarding the notion of beauty, an event that tied in perfectly with our exhibition, Visions of Beauty.
