What attracted you to this post?

My speciality is Victorian art so I jumped at the chance to work on GF Watts, who was probably the most revered artist of that era. The more of his manuscripts I read, the more I see that he was a hub around which the Victorian art world turned.

What’s been the most interesting event or part of the job so far?

The Watts Gallery has a collection of around 800 of Watts’s drawings which have rarely been seen by the public. To unearth the stories behind them for an exhibition next year involves some very satisfying detective work.
