What attracted you to this post?
The opportunity to combine my love of 18th-century painting with my fascination for the history of the period: the Jacobite uprisings, the Scottish Enlightenment and the beginnings of the Industrial Revolution.
What’s been the most interesting part of the job so far?
Working daily with the works of Allan Ramsay. His work has a vividness that has few rivals.
