Finbarr Whooley joins the Museum of London in July as its first director of content. He is currently the assistant director at the Horniman Museum and Gardens in London.

Maria Balshaw has joined Arts Council England’s National Council as a board member. She is the director of the Whitworth Art Gallery and Manchester City Galleries, and is also Manchester City Council’s strategic lead for culture.

Tamsin Russell has left National Museums Scotland, where she was organisational projects manager, to work on the merger between Historic Scotland and the Royal Commission on the Historic and Ancient Monuments Scotland to create Historic Environment Scotland.

, the former deputy director of the UK Government Art Collection, and Freda Matassa, former registrar at the Royal Academy of Arts, have created Matassa-Toffolo, a partnership providing collections management advice to public and private collections.

Blondel Cluff, a lawyer and chief executive of the West India Committee, became the chairwoman of the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) Committee for London on 1 April, 2014.

Jenny Cousins, the project leader of the American Air Museum at the Imperial War Museum, Duxford, and heritage and diversity consultant Rachel Hasted have also been appointed to the HLF committee.

Hayden Phillips has been appointed by the culture secretary as the chairman of the Reviewing Committee on the Export of Works of Art and Objects of Cultural Interest for a period of five years that started in March. He is also the independent reviewer of the adjudications of the Advertising Standards Authority.
