The latest appointments in the museum sector

Johanna Baring has been appointed as the curator of the Ingram Collection, London, the biggest publicly accessible private collection of modern British art. She was previously a director of Christie’s UK.

Kettle’s Yard news: Jennifer Powell has joined the Cambridge gallery as its senior curator. She had been an assistant curator, modern British art, at Tate Britain.

Summar Hipworth is the gallery’s new head of operations. She had been the arts administrator for the Sydney Writers’ Festival.

The first chairman of the Towner’s board of trustees is broadcaster David Dimbleby.

Andrew Hunt has joined the Spacex Gallery, Exeter, as its new director. He comes from the Focal Point Gallery, Southend-on-Sea, where he was the director.

His predecessor, Nicola Hood, becomes a curator at Amino, a contemporary arts production company in Newcastle upon Tyne.

Tom Trevor has left the Arnolfini, Bristol, where he was the director, to work on international curatorial projects.

Sam Hunt has left the Association of Independent Museums (AIM), where he was executive director, to work as a freelance heritage consultant and a Heritage Lottery Fund mentor. He is succeeded at AIM by Tamalie Newbery.

David Craven
has joined the National Science Learning Centre at the University of York. He was the sector improvement officer at Museum Development North West.

Sarah Martin, the head of exhibitions at Turner Contemporary, Margate, has become a trustee on the board of Axisweb, the online art site.
