A number of museum, arts and heritage professionals have been recognised in the New Year honours.

Officers of the Order of the British Empire (OBE)

Pim Baxter, deputy director, National Portrait Gallery, London. For services to the arts.

Gerard McQuillan, lately senior adviser, Acquisitions, Exports, Loans and Collections, Acceptance in Lieu Scheme, Arts Council England. For services to public arts collections.

Godfrey Worsdale, lately director and chief executive, Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art, Gateshead. For services to visual arts in the north east.

Anita Zabludowicz, philanthropist. For services to the arts.

Members of the Order of the British Empire (MBE)

Sharon Webb, director and curator, Kilmartin Museum, Mid-Argyll. For services to heritage and archaeology in Scotland.

British Empire Medal

Pauline Griffiths, curator, Narberth Museum, Pembrokeshire. For services to heritage and the community in Pembrokeshire.

John Ronald Macleod. For voluntary service to Dingwall Museum and the community of Rossshire.
