The Culture Capital Exchange has launched a project offering seed funding for collaborative research partnerships between artists and creative small businesses and academic researchers.
The National Academics and Creatives Exchange, known simply as The Exchange, is a two-year pilot project supported by Arts Council England and the Higher Education Funding Council for England.
The project offers seed funding of £5,000 to 30 joint research projects to allow for partnerships of academics and creatives to tackle avenues of enquiry of mutual benefit.
The Culture Capital Exchange is a membership organisation that has been developed from the London Centre for Arts and Cultural Exchange.
It hopes to “enrich the ecology” between the arts, the creative sectors and universities. Its aim is to break down collaboration barriers by establishing a network to enable artists, creatives and researchers to develop mutually beneficial relationships.
The Exchange may interest those looking for new collaborators or those hoping to generate income by working more closely with academic ideas and research.
The first regional networking events launched last month and will continue throughout February. Limited places are available to book on The Exchange website.
