A trust was launched this summer to run Coventry Transport Museum and the Herbert Art Gallery and Museum.
Culture Coventry is the result of a merger between the Coventry Transport Museum Trust and Coventry Heritage and Arts Trust.
However, the move will result in the loss of about 13 full-time posts, said a trust spokeswoman.
“The trust was formed partly as a result of the need to save £393,000 a year across the organisations,” she added.
The trust will also be responsible for Lunt Roman Fort and Priory Visitors Centre.
Meanwhile, Buckinghamshire County Council has confirmed that Buckinghamshire County Museum will move to trust status in December.
