School scheme gets £3.6m

The Department for Education will grant Arts Council England £3.6m over the next three years, as part of its museums and schools programme. The programme will select 10 regional museums to work with a cluster of local schools, as well as being linked with a national museum, and is aimed at areas of low cultural engagement.

Funding beneficiaries

Arts Council England has announced the 22 Subject Specialist Networks to share £174,600 of funding for 2012-13. Awards range from £2,500 for the Theatre Information Group to £13,000 for the Army Museums Ogilby Trust.

Art Fund International

Major exhibitions have been unveiled by the museums and galleries that are partners in the Art Fund International scheme. The Gallery of Modern Art, Glasgow, New Art Gallery Walsall, Towner, in Eastbourne, Bristol Museum, Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery and Middlesbrough’s Mima will all host shows as part of the £5m programme. The scheme to transform collections of international contemporary art in regional museums began in 2007 and is now in its final year.

Audience Agency opens

The Audience Agency, the new audience development agency, has opened with offices in London and Manchester, supported by a network of regional directors and associates. It replaces All About Audiences and Audiences London Plus.
