A planning application for the £45m Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A) outpost in Dundee was submitted to the city council last month.
The ship-like building, set to open in 2015, has been designed by the Japanese architect Kengo Kuma.
According to the planning application, 76 staff will work at the three-storey building on the banks of the river Tay.
A suite of gallery rooms education spaces, a resource library and restaurant are planned for the second floor.
About 500,000 visitors are expected in the first year.
The date of the council meeting for consideration of the application has yet to be confirmed.
