Sharon Ament, who has been appointed director of the Museum of London (MoL), will take up the role in September.
Ament is currently director of public engagement at the Natural History Museum (NHM) in South Kensington, where her responsibilities include visitor services, learning, communications, exhibitions and fundraising.
She oversees a team responsible for generating an annual income of more than £18m at the NHM. Ament replaces the MoL’s interim director, David Spence, who took over in March following the resignation of Jack Lohman.
