Google is carrying out a major global expansion of the Google Art Project, its online gallery featuring high-resolution digital reproductions of artworks from around the world.
As part of the expansion, the corporation recently announced new partnerships with 10 galleries in the UK to host paintings, sculptures and other works from their collections. There are now 12 UK organisations that are part of the initiative.
The latest UK partners include the Dulwich Picture Gallery in London, which has 654 artworks by 250 artists on the website, the Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool, which has 151 artworks by 121 artists, and the Jewish Museum, London, with 150 works by 43 artists.
