The British Glass Foundation has set up a charity to secure the future of Dudley’s historic Stourbridge glass collections.

Broadfield House Glass Museum and Himley Hall house Stourbridge glass collections and archives dating back 400 years. The museum was saved from closure last year, following a local campaign.

A spokeswoman for the British Glass Foundation, Janet Hendry, said concerns remained that Dudley council might sell the museum building, and that the charity aimed to work with the council to find a world-class facility to bring the collections together.

The charity plans to secure finance through membership and fundraising.
