Urbis in Manchester is hosting its last exhibition following the controversial decision to move the National Football Museum from Preston to the Urbis site next year.

Urbis has Left the Building: Six Years of the Best Exhibitions in Pop Culture, which runs until 27 February, celebrates the institution’s exhibition programme, launched in 2004.

Malcolm Chapman, head of collections development at Manchester Museum, said: “It is hard to think of anywhere else that could develop exhibitions such as the recent Videogame Nation or the current Homegrown: The Story of UK Hip-Hop.”
