The Tower of Time: Yukio Fujimoto, Perrott's Folly, Birmingham

Japanese sound artist Yukio Fujimoto transforms Birmingham's historic tower, with a look into human mortality. As visitors ascend, the ticking of 1,111 clocks will gradually accumulate, culminating in a kind of "white noise" on the top floor.
Histories of the Home Subject Specialist Network, Queen Mary University, London

This will be the first academic conference of the network, which was set up last year by the Geffrye Museum. It will examine approaches to the study of homes from the 18th century to the present day.
Extended Play, The Exchange, Penzance
6-27 June
This series of events and workshops organised by Let's Play Records invites guests to experience vinyl as a tool for play. Visitors can make their own pop video, become a DJ or enter a pop quiz. The main event, on 20 June, is a 24-hour Discothon, where the public will be able to strut their stuff to some classic vinyl records.
Fairies: Samantha Bryan, Gallery Oldham, Oldham

The exhibition features the artist's own freestanding wire sculptures, as well as fairytale illustrations by artists Mabel Lucie Atwell, Arthur Rackham and Walter Crane. Bryan's artwork is inspired by children's stories and Victorian gadgetry, in an attempt to portray the domesticated lives of the mythical creatures.
Centenary: Celebrating 100 Years of Science, Science Museum, London
26-28 June
The museum will be celebrating its 100th anniversary with a three-day party involving special science shows, performances and events. During the course of the year, the museum will also be announcing a Centenary Journey, which will exhibit the 10 greatest scientific achievements of the last century as voted for by the public, as well as opening two new exhibitions and unveiling two fully refurbished galleries.
