The Science Museum in London has appointed Libby Jackson, one of the UK’s experts on spaceflight, as its first head of space. Her role will include public engagement activities and creating digital content. Jackson was previously head of space exploration at the UK Space Agency.

David Gelsthorpe has taken over as chief executive of the Collections Trust from Kevin Gosling. Gelsthorpe spent four years as chair of the UK Museum Accreditation Scheme and 18 as curator of earth sciences at Manchester Museum.

Historic Royal Palaces has appointed Eleri Lynn as chief curator. The fashion history and textiles expert, and author, succeeds the historian and TV presenter Lucy Worsley, who stepped down at the end of 2024.

The Tank Museum in Dorset, has appointed Nick Booth as head of curatorial services. He was formerly Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust’s collections and learning director.

Flavia Frigeri has been appointed curatorial and collections director at London’s National Portrait Gallery (NPG). She was formerly the gallery’s Chanel curator for the collection, leading a partnership project – supported by the Chanel Culture Fund – aimed at redressing the gender imbalance within the NPG’s collection.

London’s Natural History Museum has recruited Jessica Bradford as its first director of collections. She was formerly the Science Museum in London’s head of collections and principal curator.
