Rod Hebden has been appointed as interim director by the Swindon Museum and Art Gallery Trust. He previously led a fundraising project for the Science Museum in Wroughton and London.

Michael Lynton has been appointed Tate’s media business trustee, a four-year role that started in May.

He is the chairman of Snap Inc and the chief executive of Sony Entertainment. Tate has also announced James Timpson as a trustee. The position is for four years. Timpson has also been appointed chair of the Tate Liverpool Advisory Council. He remains the chief executive of shoe repair multinational Timpson.

Alistair Burtenshaw has been appointed the new director of Watts Gallery-Artists’ Village, Surrey, taking up his role in September. He is currently the director of Charleston in East Sussex.

Claire Doherty, the director and founder of public art project producer Situations, has been appointed the director at Arnolfini gallery in Bristol. She will take up her role in August.

The National Galleries of Scotland has appointed Christopher Breward to the new role of director of collection and research. He is currently the principal of Edinburgh College of Art and the vice-principal for the Creative Industries and Performing Arts at the University of Edinburgh.

Margaret Rose, chairman of the Friends of Lyme Regis Museum, is retiring from the role after eight years. David Cox has been elected the acting chairman.

Annette MacTavish has been appointed the director of Helston Museum in Cornwall. Her most recent role was as a part-time heritage learning curator at Tate St Ives.
