Arts Council England has launched an £18m fund to help promote arts and culture overseas.

The arts council says the aim is to build on the success of organisations such as London’s Victoria and Albert Museum, which tours its exhibitions all over the world.
Current examples include David Bowie Is, which is on show at Martin-Gropius-Bau in Berlin until 10 August, before moving to the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago.
Money for the initiative comes from resources returned to the arts council following the dissolution of the Olympic Lottery Distributor. The international fund will be invested from 2015 to 2018. The arts council will release more details in January 2015.
There is also funding for oversees work available from the latest round of China-UK Connections through Culture development grants. The programme, which is run by the British Council, aims to build lasting relationships between organisations in the UK and China.

The grants enable representatives of cultural organisations to visit their counterparts for up to 10 days to develop projects or exchange skills.
The deadline for applications is 8 June. The results will be announced on 11 July.
