The 2014-15 Prism Fund, which helps to support the acquisition and conservation of heritage objects from the fields of science, technology, industry and medicine, is open for applications.
The fund, managed by Arts Council England, offers grants of up to £20,000 or 90% of the total project costs.
Recent recipients of funding include the Community Heritage Arts & Media Project, which used a grant of £5,400 to help it acquire a 1914 Elswick Hopper motorcycle that will be housed at Baysgarth House Museum.
The UCL Pathology Collection received almost £18,000 for the conservation of the Whittington Hospital Teaching Collection.
The Textile Society, meanwhile, has a fund for museums and archives for exhibition, publication or conservation projects that help increase awareness and access for the public.
Up to £5,000 can be applied for and the closing date is 2 June. Past winners include Bexley Heritage Trust in Kent, the Fleet Air Arm Museum in Ilchester, Somerset, and the Holburne Museum in Bath.
The Textile Society is also inviting applications from researchers and professionals for its £2,000 Professional Development Award. The deadline is 1 September and applicants must be a member of the society or working for an institution that is one.
