Several deadlines for funding to support collections are coming up in the spring.

Treasure Plus is a programme to help museums deepen public engagement with items of Treasure and other archaeological material.

The Art Fund initiative is supported by the Headley Trust and offers grants of £2,000-£10,000. Applications must be in by 12 March.

Treasure Plus is open to UK public museums, galleries, historic houses, libraries and archives that are either provisionally or fully Accredited and are open for at least half the week for at least six months of the year.

The National Manuscripts Conservation Trust offers grants for the preservation of manuscripts and archives. The next deadline for the submission of applications is 1 April. Grants are not usually considered for projects costing less than £1,000 and the money can cover up to 90% of the cost.

Collecting Cultures is a Heritage Lottery Fund initiative that helps museums, libraries and archives develop their collections through strategic acquisitions. Grants of £50,000-£500,000 are available and the next deadline is 2 May.

Collecting Cultures kicked off in 2008, supporting 22 projects. Museums that benefited included Tain and District Museum in Scotland and Fermanagh County Museum in Northern Ireland.
