Cymal (Museums Archives and Libraries Wales) is inviting applications for its 2014-15 Innovation and Development Grants programme.

The organisation is looking to fund projects in areas such as: increasing access and equality; caring for collections; community engagement and service enhancement; and workforce/organisational/partnership development.

Funding applications from museums should contribute to the objectives in Cymal’s A Museums Strategy for Wales.

Eligible museums, archives and libraries can apply for up to £50,000. The closing date is 24 January.

Grants will normally be awarded for up to 75% of the total project costs. Grants of 100% may be considered in certain circumstances and for strategic partnerships.
Applications can be made by networks, consortia and partnerships.

They can involve institutions from a single domain; cross-domain working between museums, archives and libraries; or work with related bodies such as educational institutions and community organisations.

Where several museums, archives, libraries or other partners are involved, one eligible institution should become the lead applicant.

Cymal normally awards funding for one year, although certain projects  may be funded for longer.
