The British Council is looking for museum professionals to take part in a study tour to Brazil that will aim to develop partnerships with national and regional museums.

The tour, supported by Arts Council England (ACE), is part of the British Council’s Transform Museum Programme, which is linked to Brazil hosting the football World Cup in 2014 and Olympics in 2016.

The deadline for applications is 5 September and the tour will run from 26 October-3 November. Those interested should contact the British Council.
Several organisations provide funding that museum professionals can access to support international travel.

The Winston Churchill Memorial Trust awards more than 120 travelling fellowships each year, worth £6,000 each on average.

They fall under a range of categories, including the creative industries, and arts and older people. The deadline to apply for travel in 2014 is 24 September 2013.

Other organisations that provide international travel grants for museum professionals include the UK branch of the International Council of Museums and the Leverhulme Trust.

In other funding news, ACE will shortly announce details of the third round of the Renaissance strategic support fund for museums.

The deadline for applications will be in the autumn for projects taking place in 2014-15. The third round will award about £15m, with grants ranging from £50,000 to £500,000.
