The Art Fund Prize 2008 is to be chaired by Sue MacGregor and judged by Keith Khan, Diane Lees, Christopher Lloyd, Mark Miodownik, Maggie Semple and Emma Soames. The longlist will be announced on 1 February.

Artefacts move to Duxford

Collections from the Airborne Forces Museum in Aldershot, which is closing this month, are being moved to the AirSpace building at the Imperial War Museum Duxford for next autumn's opening of the Airborne Assault Duxford attraction.

24 Hour Museum rebrands

The 24 Hour Museum has changed its name to Culture24, and will be relaunching its family of websites under the new branding in spring 2008. The relaunch will involve new sections for teachers, and more contemporary arts coverage.

Wales eyes £8.5m

National Museum Wales is seeking £8.5m funding from the Welsh Assembly for a 10-year project to transfer works from the St Fagans: National History Museum (pictured) to the National Museum Cardiff, to help tell the story of Wales from its earliest times.

Science Museum initiative

The Science Museum launched a WAP site for mobile phone and PDA users. Visitors can download ringtones, games, and find guides to galleries, and objects. To access the site, text "SM" to 80876. Texts are charged at standard network rates.
