Successful applicants to the £100m Catalyst fund, administered by the Heritage Lottery Fund and Arts Council England, due to be informed on 31 March, have been told that the announcement has been delayed.
Applicants to the £55m Catalyst: endowments fund and the £30m Catalyst Arts: capacity building and match funding scheme have been affected.
Citing Cabinet Office guidelines on making public announcements in the weeks approaching mayoral and local government elections, the fund administrators have said the announcement will follow the elections on 3 May.
A third funding strand, Catalyst Arts and Catalyst Heritage fundraising capacity building grants, was due to open for applications on 1 April, but has been put back indefinitely.
A statement on the Catalyst website read: “We want to review our approach once funding decisions for the Catalyst endowments and Catalyst capacity building and match funding are known, so that we can make sure this third strand of activity is complementary to the other two.”
