The Museums, Libraries and Archives Council (MLA) has awarded five collections designated status.

The scheme now recognises 131 collections of national and international importance in England's non-national museums, libraries and archives.

The newly designated collections are: Kensington Palace's royal ceremonial dress collection; the Baring Archive's entire holdings; Unilever Archives and Records Management's permanent archive; Bradford Industrial Museum's worsted collection; and Porthcurno Telegraph Museum's core collection.

New funding opportunities for designated collections will be announced in the autumn.
