Highlights from the National Portrait Gallery's collection will examine how artists throughout the centuries have represented family life. Works range from an early 17th-century portrait of Sir Walter Raleigh to Ringo Starr's wedding portrait by Terry O'Neill.
Velocity Zero/Unique Forms: The Drawing and Sculpture of Umberto Boccioni, Estorick Collection, London

The gallery, which specialises in modern Italian art, will be holding two concurrent exhibitions exploring futurism. Velocity Zero will feature multimedia work by Luca Buvoli, while Unique Forms will present 20 works by Umberto Boccioni.

The arts project will explore the concept of perceptions and issues surrounding disability. Community groups and artists will present textiles, creative writing and photography.
Warp, Weft and the Printer's Block, Quilt Museum and Gallery, York

The use of cotton, silk, linen and wool in the 18th and 19th centuries is examined in this exhibition at the Quilt Museum and Gallery. Among the works on show will be The Tree of Life, which is an example of broderie perse, a method of applying fabric.
The Forced Journey, Ben Uri Gallery, London

This exhibition of 90 works mainly by German and Austrian artists is hosted in conjunction with a new Courtauld Institute MA teaching module, Arts in Exile in Britain 1933-45. Themes include the art of internment and the development of graphic design in Britain in the middle of the 20th century.
Ben Nicholson on England, Tate St Ives

Ben Nicholson is regarded as one of the most radical British artists of the 20th century and this is the first major presentation of his work in the UK for more than 14 years. The exhibition will focus on his landscapes of the 1920s, works produced in St Ives during the second world war and later cubist still-lifes.
Follies of Europe, Hove Museum and Art Gallery

This exhibition of photos by Nic Barlow of buildings from the baroque to the modern day will trace the development of "architectural extravaganzas" in Europe.
Bob Dylan, The Drawn Blank Series, City Art Centre, Edinburgh

The exhibition claims to be the most comprehensive collection of Dylan's art ever assembled. The works were produced by Dylan while on tour between 1989 and 1992.
Andrea Palladio: His Life and Legacy, Royal Academy of Arts, London

The RA marks the 500th anniversary of the architect's birth with the first exhibition devoted to Palladio in London for more than 30 years. Computer animations, original drawings, books and paintings will illustrate the extent of his output.
