A new report has revealed that 12 million adults actively participate in the arts in England each year.
Data from the Active People survey shows that 28.6% of adults in England say they have spent time doing artistic, creative, or musical activities in the past 12 months.
Figures also showed that there was a strong correlation between participation in the arts and attendance at arts events.
The analysis was carried out by Audiences UK for the Participation Manifesto Group, a partnership of organisations committed to raising levels of participation in arts activities that includes the National Campaign for the Arts and Voluntary Arts.
