The European Museum Forum is seeking entries to the European Museum of the Year Award 2012. The prize, which has been running since 1977, recognises innovation, excellence and public quality in museums.

As well as the main prize, the Kenneth Hudson Award recognises projects or people that have challenged the perceptions of museums, while the Silletto Prize rewards community involvement and work with volunteers.

Several special awards will also be given to museums that have developed an innovative aspect of their public service.

The deadline for submissions is 15 March. Next year’s awards ceremony is being held at the German Emigration Centre, in Bremerhaven, on 18-21 May.
