The review panel for Renaissance in the Regions has called for written evidence on the impact of the programme.
The panel wants responses on: what Renaissance has and hasn't achieved; what is good and what should be changed about the management of the programme; and what the most important thing for the future is.
Nikola Burdon, policy officer at the Museums Association (MA), said the management of Renaissance and what it delivers has implications for the whole sector. "It is crucial to take on board lessons learned so far. The MA will be seeking comments from its council members to help form its response."
Bill Ferris, the chairman of the Association of Independent Museums, said Renaissance had made a difference to the museums it had touched, but the independent sector wanted every museum to enjoy that benefit.
Responses should be emailed to renaissancereview@mla.gov.uk by the end of July.
