And £6.1m Renaissance strategic support fund opens
Arts Council England has announced the 10 successful applicants to its strategic touring fund, worth a total of £1.3m.

One project that included museums and galleries was the Past Lives Project, which was awarded £148,148 to deliver a participatory tour in the East Midlands, engaging communities in their local heritage and developing a new network with Midlands museums.

Another was Generation, which saw Durham County Council awarded £150,000 for a collaborative project between four museums and art galleries in the north of England to reach family focussed audiences through four touring participatory art exhibitions that will show at each of the venues.

And Grizedale Arts was awarded £130,000 to form a touring partnership between regional galleries and European organisations to bring work to Liverpool, Sheffield and Birmingham.

ACE also announced the opening of a number of other funding streams including the third round of its Renaissance strategic support fund, which will award up to £6.1m to support museums undertaking ambitious activities that contribute to ACE’s goals.

And the £700,000 Designation development fund allows museums to apply for grants of between £40,000 and £90,000 towards work that takes place between April 2014 and March 2015.

Expressions of interest for the Renaissance strategic support fund must be submitted to ACE by 5pm on 31 October 2013. Applications to the Designation development fund close on 12 November 2013.
