The underrepresentation of disabled museum professionals was highlighted in our 2022 wellbeing research and 2024 online wellbeing workshops aimed at leaders and managers.
To address the underrepresentation and to develop a response to feedback, two online discovery discussion sessions were facilitated by Emily Elsworth and Tamsin Russell in March 2026.

We appreciate that an individual’s experience is exactly this, individual, and will be shaped by multiple overlapping aspects of identity. We must therefore consider intersectionality in our responses and recommendations.
