Event facilities
- Please be aware that the Barbican has more than one entrance – once inside the building, you will be able to fully access all areas including the event facilities.
- On arrival, please go to the Conservatory/Garden Room – this is on level 3 if you’re coming from inside the main Barbican building. Photos of this space can be found online.
- The event will take place in Auditorium 1, which is a short walk away on Level 4. It can be accessed by stairs or a lift. Photos of the space can be found online.
- Auditorium 1 is a fixed-seating theatre. On entry, the seating slopes down towards a stage. If you require step-free access, there is an accessible entrance – please email events@museumsassociation.org to let us know so we can ensure easy access.
- The Barbican has detailed access information on its website, including a video tour of the buildings and large print documents.
- Please see our accessibility guidance for in-person events – if you want to discuss your access requirements or need to request adjustments (such as closed captions or BSL interpretation) then please get in touch with us via events@museumsassociation.org.
Sustainability
- In line with the Museums Association’s commitment to sustainability, we will serve a 50/50 mix of vegetarian and vegan food at this event. This includes non-dairy milk.
- Catering at the Barbican is provided by Searcys. More details can be found in its sustainability pledge.
- We encourage delegates to bring their own reusable hot drink cups and water bottles to events.
- We provide a digital-only programme. If you require a printed version or printed delegate list, please email events@museumsassociation.org.
- We print badges on sustainable paper. Lanyards are reusable and made from bamboo. We do not provide plastic wallets for badges.
- We no longer provide delegate bags with printed material inside.
