Inclusive event places

One-day conferences

The Members Support Fund provides 15 free places at in-person one-day conferences in 2026/27 for individual members of the MA who face barriers due to ethnicity, disability, socio-economic background, and gender identity or sexual orientation (LGBTQ).

These free places are part of our wider work towards creating a more inclusive sector. We will also support any accessibility requests such as provision of British Sign Language (BSL), audio description or closed captioning.

All applicants meeting the criteria will be considered for one of the free places. In the event of there being more qualifying applicants than places available at an event, we will select the places by lot.

Annual conference

The Members Support Fund will provide 26 free in-person and online places at MA Conference 2026 for individual MA members who face barriers due to ethnicity, disability, socio-economic background, and gender identity or sexual orientation (LGBTQ). 

Successful applicants can also claim up to £250 to support their travel and/or accommodation. Applicants can make as many claims as needed (up to the £250 limit) before or after conference takes place. You just need to fill in an expense claims form and send us receipts as proof of payment.

The deadline to apply is 1200 on 21 August 2026 for in-person places in Birmingham, and 1200 on 21 October 2026 for online places.
