Accessibility is not just about wheelchair access, it’s about making a site, collection, service etc accessible for people with all sorts of disabilities. An Access Audit uses the principles of SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) to assess your organisation’s accessibility—from planning a visit, arriving onsite, enjoying the experience, and giving feedback. This process highlights barriers and areas for improvement. The audit informs the creation of an Access Policy, which can: • Support funding bids • Improve visitor and employee experience • Help you comply with the Equality Act 2010 I am an experienced accessibility consultant with qualifications and expertise in: • Access audits, policy and training • Educational strategy development • Handling collections and loan boxes I have worked across museums, countryside parks, visitor centres, and heritage properties in both paid and voluntary roles.
