Our response to the Senedd’s Finance Committee consultation on the Welsh Government draft budget 2027-28

The Museums Association has responded to the Senedd’s Finance Committee consultation on the Welsh Government draft budget 2027-28.

In the response, we:

• Highlighted the financial pressures of rising operational costs and revenue spending on museums.
• Demonstrated how museums contribute to the delivery of some of the stated priorities, including supporting economic growth.
• Reiterated the need for multi-year funding.
• Asked the government to fulfil its manifesto commitment to increase the budget for culture, heritage, arts and sport year-on-year over the next Senedd term.
