Our response to the Museum Policy for Northern Ireland Consultation

The Museums Association (MA) has responded to the Department for Communities Museum Policy for Northern Ireland Consultation.

In our response, we:

• Asked for collections, learning and inclusion to be recognised in the vision
• Raised the necessity for the aims in the strategy to be adequately resourced
• Reiterated that Accreditation remains the best assurance of quality standards
• Highlighted the pressing need to improve the data for the museum sector in Northern Ireland
• Raised the importance of strategic public investment in culture
